    As a sport, air rifle shooting allows those that cannot compete in the usual competitive team sports (and therefore the majority of sport offered in schools) a chance to enjoy the benefits of engaging in sport (self-discipline, patience, hand-eye coordination, determination etc) on an equal footing to their peers (in my son’s case, he has autism but this would apply equally to those with physical challenges). I am so grateful that Scouts are able to offer this opportunity to young people, long may it continue. My son does air rifle shooting with his own troop, the smaller group size in this session enabled him to spend more time shooting and progress.

    Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we have already booked her next session. She very much appreciated the opportunity to try new experiences and learn new skills from knowledgeable patient instructors.
